Officers could hear gunshots coming from the school building’s second level. She was shot at by two of the five police officers on the squad in what Aaron described as a lobby area, and by 10:27 AM, she had been pronounced dead. The police agency responded quickly, according to Aaron.

At that moment, according to a statement from the hospital’s spokesperson John Howser, three students who had been shot when they arrived at Monroe Carell Jr Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt were declared dead. On the other hand, the shooter murdered three employees. Other official accounts state that Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old woman who is allegedly transgender, has been named as the suspect. Hale entered the structure carrying three firearms. Later, the suspect arrived in a Hondo Fit at the school and entered by shooting through one of the locked school entrances. Later, the Nashville Police shared the CCTV video to clarify that Hale entered the building brandishing weapons.
