Honda has officially shown off its first electric two-wheeler, one of 10 electric two-wheelers that the company plans to release. At EICMA 2022 in Milan, they showed off the Honda EM1 e e-two-wheeler. It is likely to be the first electric scooter made by the Japanese automaker in some emerging EV markets, such as Europe. No one knows if the Honda EM 1 e electric scooter will sold in India, but it has the same battery-swapping technology that is tested there. India is one of the fastest-growing markets for electric vehicles, but Honda is one of the more prominent companies that doesn’t have an electric car. Honda will likely make an electric scooter just for India.
Honda EM1 e electric scooter design
The EM1 e, which stands for “Electric Moped” and is made by Honda, is made for a younger audience and looks like that. One of the best things about the e-scooter is that the battery pack can take off and replace.
The Honda Mobile Power Pack, a removable battery pack, could make the vehicle more useful in terms of its range. The Honda EM1 e can go more than 40 km on a single charge. A teaser video show that the scooter should able to go about 59 km when it is 92 percent charge. If Honda decides to sell the e-scooter in India, the fact that the battery pack can taken off could helpful. Indian customers are use to a real-world range of about 90 to 100 km.
Even though we don’t know much about the EM1 e electric scooter, we know a few things about how it works. The motor for the Honda EM1 e is built into the hub of the 10-inch rear wheel. There will be a 12-inch wheel with a disc brake and telescopic forks. On the dash of the e-scooter are LED lights and an LCD MID.
The Honda EM1 e price will known in the summer of 2023 when the electric scooter is expected to go on sale in Europe. The company still needs to give a date for the launch in India.
